Fairbanks Memorial Hospital — Referral Hub for Denali Borough
The Denali Borough (Healy, Cantwell) sits on the Parks Highway corridor near Denali National Park, about 2 hours south of Fairbanks. Fairbanks Memorial Hospital is the nearest specialist hub for comprehensive autism evaluations. Anchorage (~4 hours south) is the alternative. Telehealth with Fairbanks or Anchorage specialists is increasingly available.
Fairbanks (~2 hours north) is the nearest specialist hub. Parks Highway is paved and passable year-round making Fairbanks accessible compared to more remote AK areas.

Alaska Early Intervention — Infant Learning Program (Denali Borough)
Alaska's Part C EI program serves Denali Borough children birth to 3 with developmental delays. Fairbanks ILP staff cover this region. Services include in-home visits and telehealth coaching. FREE for eligible children.
FREE under IDEA Part C. The Fairbanks ILP office covers the Denali Borough. Staff travel the Parks Highway corridor.
ABA therapy
Applied Behavior Analysis therapy — typically requires insurance authorization.

ABA Telehealth — Fairbanks / Anchorage BCBAs (Serving Denali Borough)
In-person ABA therapy is not available in the Denali Borough. Telehealth ABA from Fairbanks or Anchorage BCBAs is the primary option. Some Fairbanks-based providers may offer in-person services to Healy families with travel. Alaska Medicaid and commercial insurance cover ABA telehealth.
Some Fairbanks BCBAs may travel to Healy (~2 hours) for in-person sessions. Ask when calling. Telehealth is the baseline option.
