Sanford Health — Mahnomen Health Center Developmental Referrals
Mahnomen Health Center, affiliated with Sanford Health, is the critical access hospital for Mahnomen County. Provides primary care and developmental referrals. Full autism evaluations require travel to Fargo-Moorhead (~100 miles west) or Bemidji (~60 miles east). Mahnomen County includes the White Earth Nation reservation.
Mahnomen County has Minnesota's highest percentage of American Indian residents (White Earth Ojibwe). Culturally appropriate care is essential. Bemidji (~60 mi east) is the nearest specialist hub.

Mahnomen County and its school district provide free Early Childhood Special Education services for children birth through age 5 under IDEA.
