When Bridger was three, I asked his BCBA a question I wasn’t emotionally prepared to have answered: “Do you think he will ever be able to talk?” His response changed the way I understood communication forever. In this episode, we talk about AAC, sign language, verbal speech, and the deeper truth that speech and communication are not the same thing.
