In this episode

In this episode, we’re talking about what happens when the caregiver suddenly becomes the one who needs care. When Chris unexpectedly had a health scare, our family was faced with a frightening medical emergency—and a whole new set of questions about safety, caregiving, and what would happen to Bridger if one of us suddenly couldn’t be there. We talk about the fear and vulnerability that came with the experience, the unique challenges of raising a profoundly autistic child, the reality of being the primary caregiver, and the uncomfortable “what ifs” many autism parents carry quietly in the back of their minds. Most of all, this episode is a reminder that caregivers matter too—and sometimes taking care of our children means taking care of ourselves.
