Currituck County is North Carolina's northeastern Outer Banks county bordering Virginia. Due to geography, many Currituck County families find it faster to access Children's Hospital of The King's Daughters (CHKD) in Norfolk, VA (~30 miles) than hospitals deeper in NC. CHKD is a full-service children's hospital with a strong developmental and autism program.

Camden

Sentara Albemarle Medical Center — Camden County Referrals

Camden County families access developmental evaluations and autism evaluation referrals through Sentara Albemarle Medical Center in Elizabeth City (~15 miles west) or Chesapeake-area providers in Virginia. Camden is one of NC's smallest counties, directly adjacent to Virginia.
