New Jersey's Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD) administers the Supports Program and Community Care Program — contact DDD for eligibility and enrollment. New Jersey's system serves adults primarily; children access services primarily through the school system and the Children's System of Care. Autism New Jersey is a leading statewide advocacy and resource organization. SPAN (the Statewide Parent Advocacy Network) is NJ's PTI center, with deep expertise in special education rights. Rutgers Center for Autism Research, Education and Services (RUCARES) and Bancroft are major clinical resources.

Apply through NJ DDD as soon as diagnosis is confirmed — New Jersey is one of the few states with no formal waitlist for eligible individuals.

New Jersey's DDD serves adults 21 and older; children's services are handled through the Children's System of Care (CSOC). New Jersey notably does not use income/asset limits for DDD eligibility. The Supports Program provides individualized budgets for community services, while the Community Care Program covers residential supports with a longer wait.
