Families must travel to Las Vegas or Reno for medical needs and autism evaluations. Esmeralda County School District is extremely small. Nevada PEP provides free statewide IEP advocacy. Telehealth is the primary access point for services.

Esmeralda County (population ~900) is one of the most isolated counties in the continental U.S. No local diagnostic services exist. Families must use telehealth autism evaluations — providers through the University of Utah Telehealth program and Nevada's Medicaid telehealth network are the most accessible options. Las Vegas is over 4 hours away.
